TomTom announced a few years ago that it was discontinuing support for its now-discontinued TomTom models. TomTom models from the past should be updated. The majority of the updates will take much longer to download if you connect to a public internet network such as a hotel, restaurant, or other public location. When you have a WiFi-enabled TomTom, you don’t need to connect it to your computer via a USB cable. Finally, click on the “Install” button to install the updates onto your TomTom GPS. In the software, click on the “Installed Products” tab and then select the “Map Updates” option. Once the updates have been downloaded, connect your TomTom GPS to your computer and open up the TomTom Home software. Select the map updates that you want to install and then click on the “Download” button. After you select your model, a list of all the available updates for your GPS will appear.
On the website, click on the “Support” tab and then select “Maps & Updates.” Once you’re on the Maps & Updates page, select your GPS model from the drop-down menu.
